I'm going to clear this up for all of you 100's of people who have commented on this page.......Hip Hop is quote dead b/c of you niggas and people of other races that don't buy actual cds. How can you say a music artist not just a rapper, is your favorite, the best alive, top 5, sickest in the game, and not even buy their album? Now true enough I have copies of cds that I've downloaded or burned, but not of artists who I really like and think can actually rap with some type of lyrical content or some type of meaning and not just rhymes even I could come up with in a matter of minutes. Also, artists who I think are actually contributing to the game in a positive way whether it be record sales, feel good music, music with a message, or artists just know how to make tight azz music. For example, my "REAL" cd collection consists of Nas, The Game, Kanye, Weezy, Jeezy, Fabolous, T.I., Eminem, Luda, Outkast,Jay, and occasionally albums that I think made good albums such as Ross, 50, G-Unit. Now, I respect the mixtape game but alot of DJ's are just in it just to be in it and do it for themselves. Nowadays, to be a mixtape DJ all you have to do is go to the internet and download 18 of the hottest or unreleased songs out and throw them together. Drama, Khaled, Kayslay, Southern Smoke DJ, and a couple others are the only mixtape DJs I respect. And actually they're the ones artist really respect. They're not just getting songs together and making cds, they're bringing you unheard material from different artists, big name or small name. They have mixtapes where the song or songs you're hearing, the artists are actually there signing off on them. True enough, mixtapes have made Wayne a hell of a lot more popular but it was with his consist, i.e. Gangsta Grillz and The Drought Series. Now whether or not he could have prevented getting the rest of his shit leaked is on him, but DJ's leaked Wayne's shit and made mixtapes of them, i.e. the first Carter 3 leak and now this one. They were not with his consent. So in closing, in my opinion, the CD BURNER and cheap azz people who are not willing to pay no more than 13.99 at the right stores, i.e. Best Buy and Target, are the reason HIP HOP is quote "DEAD". You afraid of being disappointed from buying an album that turns out to be no good, listen to it from someone who has it and then decide to buy it or not. P.S. I don't know though.. It sounds too legitimate to be a gimmick. Especially the beats that Kanye produced, featured in the album, I doubt they'd go as far as to purposely leak so much valuable material.. The other leaked tracks were 'ok', but these are actually professional and highly eloquent tracks, it sounds just crazy for them to have leaked them intentionally. If they were leaked as part of a bigger marketing gimmick, I'd be pretty amused. I can't help but to doubt that though.

The way this album was done was a response to a journey that started way back on december 18th when it was supposed to drop.i think its funny how yall hate on this one man so much yet u follow his progress so intense and look at him under a different microscope.tell one person who didnt get this shit n listen to it closely to judge it n see if it met ur standards.that right there makes him the best.if u cant respect his music respect the way that you look at him.

I can't speak for every dj, but I get at least 100 messages a day on myspace from unsigned artist wanting me to spin they records or put them on a mixtape. I wouldn't expect the non DJ's to understand the DJ game. We are the ones that break the records on the radios, in the clubs, not just the mixtapes. We are the ones giving the feedback to the labels, which makes them want to put out certain songs or artist to begin with. As for me, I get all my music directly from the record labels, all of my mixtapes get cleared from these same record labels. There is a right and wrong way to do this. It's not just as easy as downloading songs off the internet and slapping them on a CD, as stated before. Yeah, you could do that, but that's not how you go about doing it the correct way. Us DJ's put a lot of grind in for these artist without no kickbacks. All of my mixtapes are free, I like helping these artist get more promotion. It makes me feel like I'm doing my part for the industry. I like doing parties, I love to see the crowd go crazy when "their" song comes on in the club. I also enjoy helping underground/unsigned artist get some well deserved shine. I wouldn't go as far as leaking Wayne's album, but I know I haven't played a Wayne song since. There is a lot of artist I don't play. But, that is my personal choice. Every DJ has artist they don't play or support. We don't have to support every artist that drops. Also, as a side note, I never charge any artist to play their music or to get on a mixtape. And you can never pay me to get a song on one of my mixtapes either.
