Now that 50 Cent’s disappointing first week numbers are official, rival Rick Ross is now claiming victory in their 2009 feud.

In a recent concert for DJ Khaled’s birthday, Ross proclaimed full credit for 50 Cent’s lowest debut week (161,000) of his previously multi-platinum career.

“So we celebrating my n***a birthday, but we’re also celebrating the demise of a p***y. R.I.P. to the donkey, we buried him,” Ross stated on stage with Khaled. “It feel good, n***a. Don’t look surprised, you knew we was gonna do it. There’s only one record that can describe the feeling.”

Concluding his victory speech, Ross went into “This Is the Life,” the fourth single from his 2008 gold sophomore LP Trilla.

In January, Rick Ross began his feud with 50 Cent courtesy of “Mafia Music,” where he ridiculed the Queens’ emcee about his relationship with his child’s mother, and the controversy surrounding the fire destruction of his Fort Dix, Long Island mansion.

50 Cent retaliated with songs (“I’ll Be the Shooter”) and satirical cartoon clips (Officer Ricky Series). Also, the G Unit CEO enlisted Ross’ estranged son’s mother Tia Kemp to disparage Ross in clips and an autobiographical book.

DJ Khaled was brought into the conflict as well when the Queens mogul had entourage members film Khaled’s mother unknowingly at her job (“A Psychic Told Me”). 50 Cent would later express regret for the act, after receiving negative responses from media and fans for the viral clip’s allusions to violence.

Earlier this month, 50 and Floyd Mayweather further mocked Ross by taking pictures with his children after Kemp had brought them to the rapper’s mansion.

At press time, Rick Ross is working on his fourth album Teflon Don, set to be released in Spring 2010.

There's a few things that contributed to the overall sales slump. It was leaked, it's garbage and wasn't hyped up as much as the past records but one thing that made no difference what-so-ever was Rick Ross.

I'm like one of the biggest Game fans. So, of course i don't like 50, but i'm not feelin' Ross either.... 50 cannot blame his low sales on album leak. Everybody's album leaked. Wayne's, Jigga's..... and they went platinum. Ross didn't destroy 50, but he won the battle. He's better lyricist than 50 and he got better tracks. I like Rick Ross and i think he got good tracks. But it's also true that it's not because of him that 50 is not selling as much as before. But it's also true that because of what he said we are talking about him instead of not even thinking to him, so in a certain way, he won... I don't like 50 cent, the massacre was really good, but i think he should focus on music instead on beefs, movies, vitamin water, clothes, and so on... if he really wanna do good music. He dares criticize so many artists who are doing best tracks than him. I'm glad than he don't sell anymore.

Anyone who would admonish drug dealing or even claiming to be one is a fuckin' clown. Drugs are the main reason why Black males flood the correctional systems of the United States. It causes dysfunction and disentigration of the family unit. Rick Ross is a fraud and a former correctional officer who found an angle/opening in the hip hop game to sell records to people who should have no business in the drug underworld. I dont believe Rick Ross had anything to do with 50's wack album sales, but in war, he does get the credit. If your fighting and guy falls out dead, due to some other factor, you get the credit for winning. I haven't heard 50's albuma and I'm not eager to hear it, but I know Rick Ross' perspective didnt influence my decision. I do like "Mafia Music." The remix with ja Rule, Game, and Fat Joe is ill too.

I just want to say that yes an album leaking can affect sales. Will it be noticeable? Well that's up to debate. Keep in mind all you people saying other people sold even though they leaked need to realize 50 leaked a month earlier not a week at tops like everyone else. The longer it's leaked the more likely people will be able to find it. I still find it funny that 50's first week sales are still better than Ross' first week. I also think that BISD is 50's best work since GRODT, but I still didn't buy it LOL. And no I'm not a 50 fan either (300 bars and running was in rotation heavy when it came out).

On a side note, has Jay even gone Plat yet?

about that beef: I don't like 50 cent, but y'all have to acknowledge that he was childish. on the other hand ross didn't really attack him really hard... of course, he had one good punchline, but nothing extraordinaire.. so I doubt ross has anything to do with that.

comparing the two artists, the only 50 cent albums I would ever buy would be instrumental editions, because they put a lot of money into dope producers, but even with ghostwriters and shit.. they ain't going hard... I mean I head 50 on that onyx album in the 90's and he was pretty hard then. so in comparison, at least ross has a nice, smooth style, even if he ain't that hard lyrically, he's somewhat more unique, but far from greatness
