 Atlanta's own Shawty Lo is gearing up to give fans a rare look into his life and the hood he reps with the release of an upcomoing DVD.
The Raw Report Presents Shawty Lo - The Real Bankhead Story, set for release next month, follows the self proclaimed "King of Bankhead" as he travels through and holds court in the Atlanta neighborhood that he calls home, as well as backstage footage at his shows and in the studio.
In addition to claiming the notorious Atlanta neighborhood, Shawty Lo is also giving back to it. The D4L rapper recently participated in the "Make It Rain In The Hood" charitable effort, in which Lo gave out money, groceries, raffle prizes, food, free haircuts and face painting for children.
"I love doing whatever I can for my community, especially Bankhead because that's where I grew up," the rapper explained said via statement. "It's not about me doing things when the cameras are rolling or doing something for just one day. On any given day, you can find me doing good in my hood."
In related news, the MC who gained solo notoriety with his hit single "Dey Know", from his debut album Units In The City also recently revealed that he suffers from diabetes and will be participating as a Team Captain in the American Diabetes Association Step Out program in September. The 5K walk raises money and promotes awareness of the chronic illness.
The Raw Report Presents Shawty Lo-The Real Bankhead Story hits FYE stores exclusively on April 29.
