Apple has teamed up with various hip-hop and R&B artists, including Wyclef Jean, David Banner, E-40 and Talib Kweli, for live performances at their retail stores throughout the country. Celebrating "Black Music Month," Apple has partnered with BlackVoices.com to produce the free concert series. The different acts, which will also feature new Bad Boy signee Janelle Monae, Atlanta rapper B.o.B, Detroit soul singer Dwele and former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams, among others, will take place in major cities like New York and San Francisco where the 'hometown heroes' will put on their shows within the retail stores. Entry into each show is based on a first come, first served basis.

With a total of 22 artists prepared to show-off their musical talent, the first performance began last Sunday (June 1) with R&B teen sensation Tiffany Evans in New York and will continue through June 30 with E-40 in San Francisco.

Made official last year, President George W. Bush proclaimed the entire month of June as "Black Music Month," recognizing the numerous contributions African-American have given to America.
